This privacy policy applies to the Hanuman Chalisa app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Samroid Apps (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information We Collect

The Hanuman Chalisa app is designed to work offline and does not require an account, sign-in, or any personal details to use. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or precise location.

Data stored only on your device. Your app preferences and activity are saved locally on your device and are never sent to us or to any server. This includes:

  • Your settings — such as language, theme, font size, colours, and background
  • Your reading counters and 108-cycle sadhana progress
  • Your prayer reminder schedule and preferences
  • Your Japa Mala recordings and chosen audio files (see Microphone and Japa Mala audio)

Diagnostic data collected by Firebase Crashlytics. To help us find and fix problems, the app uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service). If the app crashes or hits an error, a diagnostic report may be sent to Firebase. This report can include your device model, operating system version, the app version, and a small amount of non-personal context about the app's state at the time — such as the selected language, light/dark theme, whether the reading counter is enabled, and the sequence of screens visited before the crash. This information is used only to diagnose and fix issues. It does not include your name, email, contact details, precise location, or any advertising identifier.

Usage data collected by Firebase Analytics. To understand how the app is used and to improve it, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase (a Google service). It records which screens you visit inside the app (for example, opening the Chalisa or Settings screen) and a small number of interaction events — such as tapping a link to one of our other apps. Along with these events, Firebase receives your device model, operating system version, the app version, and a randomly generated app-instance identifier. This is aggregated usage information; it does not include your name, email, contact details, precise location, any advertising identifier, or the content of your prayers, counters, or settings.

Advertising ID. The app does not use or collect your device’s advertising ID.

Microphone and Japa Mala audio

Japa Mala lets you chant along with your own audio. You can record a short mantra (up to 3 recordings of up to 60 seconds each) or choose an audio file from your phone (up to 2 files of up to 10 minutes / 30 MB each). The app plays it on a loop and counts each repetition.

  • Microphone permission. The app asks for microphone access only when you tap Record in Japa Mala for the first time — never at startup. If you never record, you are never asked. You can deny or later revoke the permission in your Android settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
  • Your audio stays on your device. Recordings and chosen audio files are saved in the app’s private storage on your phone. They are never uploaded, synced, shared or sent to us or anyone else, and they are not included in device backups.
  • Choosing a file. The app uses the Android system file picker, so it does not need permission to read your storage. Only the file you pick is copied into the app’s private storage; the original file is never changed.
  • Deleting your audio. You can delete any recording or chosen file inside Japa Mala at any time. All of them are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
  • Usage statistics. Google Analytics for Firebase receives only anonymous details about this feature — whether a clip was recorded or picked, a rounded duration, why a file was rejected, the gap and target you chose, and whether you allowed the microphone. It never receives a file name, an exact duration or any audio.

Third-Party Services

The app does not display advertisements. The third-party services that receive data are Firebase Crashlytics (crash diagnostics) and Google Analytics for Firebase (aggregated usage statistics), only as described above. These services have their own privacy policies:

The Service Provider may disclose the limited diagnostic and usage information described above:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider does not operate any servers that store your personal data. Your settings, reading counters, reminders, and Japa Mala audio remain on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

The only data that leaves your device is the crash diagnostic information sent to Firebase Crashlytics and the aggregated usage statistics sent to Google Analytics for Firebase. Both are retained by Google according to the Firebase data-retention policies and are used solely to diagnose problems and improve the app.

Your Data Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • The right to access and receive a copy of your personal information
  • The right to rectify or update your personal information
  • The right to delete your personal information
  • The right to restrict processing of your personal information
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to object to the processing of your personal information

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the contact information provided below. Note that these rights may be limited in some circumstances by local law requirements.

Data Deletion Requests

Your app data is stored locally on your device and can be removed at any time by uninstalling the Application or clearing its data in your device settings. As we do not hold your personal data on our own servers, there is no account for us to delete.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider ([email protected]) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding your information. Because your app data stays on your device, it is protected by your device's own operating-system security and app sandboxing. The security measures include:

  • App data kept locally on your device rather than on our servers
  • Crash diagnostic data transmitted to Firebase over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections
  • Regular app updates to address security and stability issues

However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and the Service Provider cannot guarantee its absolute security.

International Users

The Application is available internationally. If you use the app, the crash diagnostic data described above is processed by Google (Firebase) and may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in countries whose data-protection laws may differ from your own. By using the Application, you consent to this processing. No other data leaves your device.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
